Clinical Nutrition Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) FK USU and PDGKI Provide Flood Relief in Tanjung Pura, Langkat Regency

The Clinical Nutrition Residency Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FK USU), in collaboration with the Indonesian Society of Clinical Nutrition Physicians (PDGKI), carried out a flood relief initiative on 5 December 2025 by distributing medicines, food, sanitary supplies, and other basic necessities. In addition to providing logistical assistance, the residents also offered moral support and interacted directly with displaced community members.

Synergy of the Faculty of Medicine USU, IDAI, and PAPDI Delivers Health Services for Flood Victims in Central Tapanuli

The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) carried out a humanitarian mission to support communities affected by severe flooding. This mission was implemented through collaboration with the Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI) and the Indonesian Society of Internal Medicine Specialists (PAPDI), involving a multidisciplinary medical team comprising pediatricians, internists, general practitioners, nurses, medical students, and volunteers. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (KemdiktiSaintek) also provided logistical and facility support, enabling health services to be delivered effectively and to reach areas that remained difficult to access due to flooding.

“On December 4, 2025, our advance team was deployed to Sibolga by Hercules aircraft with the support of the TNI to conduct an initial assessment as part of the preparation for deploying the main medical team.
