USU and Local Stakeholders Lead Friday Clean-Up Movement for Post-Disaster Recovery in Tanjung Pura

In response to the aftermath of flooding in Tanjung Pura City, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), in collaboration with the Tanjung Pura Sub-District Government and various community partners, organized a Friday Clean-Up Movement (Jum’at Bersih) to support environmental recovery and protect public health in Pekan Tanjung Pura.

The Faculty of Forestry of Universitas Sumatera Utara carried out a community service program entitled Community Assistance in Post-Flood Education Recovery in Langkat, North Sumatra in three flood-affected villages. The activity included learning assistance and the distribution of school supplies for children affected by the disaster.

The Faculty of Forestry at USU carried out MPTS seedling planting activities in three flood-affected villages in Langkat Regency as an effort toward environmental recovery and strengthening public awareness of sustainable natural resource management. The activity involved faculty leaders, lecturers, and the academic community as a manifestation of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

USU Peduli, Faculty of Medicine USU, and Artha Graha Peduli Continue Emergency Disaster Response Community Service

A total of 355 residents took part in the free health services provided, which included medical examinations and treatment, distribution of medicines, ready-to-eat food packages, Basic Life Support (BLS) services, and psychosocial consultations. These services were intended to support the recovery of physical health as well as provide mental health support for the community in the post-disaster period.

In particular, the activity was attended by 72 elderly participants who showed high enthusiasm throughout the entire series of activities. As a closing session, all participants took part in elderly exercise, symbolizing the growth of positive energy and shared hope to recover together.

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), through its humanitarian task force USU Peduli, continued its disaster response efforts by delivering integrated health services and trauma healing support to communities affected by flooding in Kelurahan Terjun, Medan Marelan.

Shared Special Lunch and Humanitarian Aid Reach Flash Flood Survivors in Langkat, North Sumatra

A humanitarian outreach activity combining the distribution of essential relief items with a shared special lunch was carried out for communities affected by the flash floods in Dusun Sidomulyo, Desa Sekoci, Besitang Sub-district, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. The activity marked the second time such an initiative had been implemented for flood survivors in the region. The shared meal served as a symbol of solidarity and togetherness, providing not only food but also emotional support for residents as they began to recover from the impacts of the disaster.

Collaboration of PEPSILI, PSL USU, HITI, and BKM Syuhada Distributes Donations for Flood Victims

The distribution of donations to flood-affected communities was carried out through the collaboration of PEPSILI, the S2 & S3 PSL of the Postgraduate School of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), the Central Board of the Indonesian Soil Science Association (HITI), and BKM Syuhada Jalan Balam Medan. Part of the assistance originated from the USU Donor Post and was distributed to Dusun Pakis, Harapan Makmur Village, Sei Lepan District, as well as Lingkungan Sempurna, Tangkahan Durian Subdistrict, Brandan Barat District, as a form of care and social solidarity.
